Elfa has built a new factory in Koszalin, Poland


Elfa group has had a production facility in Poland since 2001 that was built to support the main factory in Västervik. It was clear over a year ago, the need for this factory had increased and Elfa had outgrown its space. The new premises is about 8000 m2 and facilitates flexible production that can easily adjust to seasonal increases. The new factory is an important investment that will secure capacity for the group in the long term.

In mid-October the new factory was formally opened by the Chairman of Elfa Group, Mr Kip Tindell, a founder and CEO of The Container Store who made the trip from the U.S. to be here to see the new facility that ships many goods to them at The Container Store in Dallas, Texas.

The new factory employs a total of 200 persons, 21 white collar and 179 blue collar employees and has a great level of efficiency making it ready for increased capacity. The warehouse is almost
2300 m2 and supplies both the local Polish market as well as all other key markets Elfa group serves.   

–Poland is an area that is of strategic value for Elfa both on the manufacturing and sales side, and we will continue to have a presence there for years to come, says Per von Mentzer, CEO of Elfa International AB.

In addition to the factory, Elfa group has a presence in Lodz where the sales and support functions operate.  This department employs 8 people.  Sales in Poland have seen increases of 20% in the last year.
